At the very least it would be worth considering for San Vicente, which is comically wide. Looks like it would almost entirely fit under the center median. The WeHo and Fairfax alignments have some ~90º turns, not sure if that's difficult with cut-and-cover under the street grid vs TBM.

I'd go fountain to bronson up to the hollywood bike lanes, then vermont to franklin and squiggle over to the pedestrian bridge over the LA river

I love discovering treasures in my @littlefreelibrary.bsky.social— my neighbors have left some great books, but this takes the cake

Mexico City’s weekly 35-mile ciclovía was a sight to see. We rode from La Condesa to the historic center, and up and down Paseo de la Reforma. Super well organized and accessible. Nothing beats riding across the city with thousands of others, without a car in sight.

Sometimes it takes public shaming (and fear of legal repercussions) to quell the greed

Seeing many opportunistic rent increases on LA Zillow. A lot of landlords have raised rents by precisely 9.9%, the maximum gouging allowed by CA law after a disaster. Also seeing way too many illegal 10%+ rent increases this week. Even noticed a fair bit of laughably immoral 60%+ price gouging.

The great folks at Le Great Outdoor in Santa Monica are delivering meals (by bike) to firefighters fighting the nearby Palisade fire. You can support them by purchasing a donated meal here: order.toasttab.com/online/le-gr...

And what it could've returned to, if Paul Koretz hadn't killed the Uplift Melrose project (more sad emojis)

Melrose Avenue was super walkable before the city widened it and cut down all the trees 😓 The pre-widening sidewalks used to be so far from the roadway. Car infrastructure took so much from us. Melrose Ave in Hollywood ~1919:

The man loves idealizing the past… so maybe appealing to what was lost to highway expansion

Normally inaction at the level of local government is blamed on a lack of funding... but the city of LA has only spent a fraction of the $1.3B allocated to this year's efforts to address homelessness and build affordable housing. Over $500 million has gone unspent. homelessdashboard.lacontroller.app
