Speaking of Emma, I think she’s the standout. She’s an excellent catalyst for this team and her relationships with every member is so fun to see. Not to mention the impact she has on the other relationships between the team (ahem… Scott & Jean).

The Cassandra Nova storyline… Amazing. Spectacular. The stakes in that final issue are enormous. You have a body switched villain, nanite sentinels, a Shi’ar war, the U-Men and a rising phoenix. This is genuine edge of your seat reading. Also! Emma Frost killing blow not once, but twice 🤌🏼

I think Frank Quietly is a “love it or hate it” kind of artist. Personally, I really like it. I like the exaggerated facial expressions, and I think his emphasis on body language helps define characters so well. Through his art, you know exactly who these people are, their behaviour, their mood, etc

New X-Men thoughts thread now that I’ve finished the series ✖️
First off, I really enjoyed this book. I think overall, it’s a really strong X title that’s clearly held dear by so many marvel fans. There are a couple parts that feel… aged. But that doesn’t lessen the books impact.

I finally finished New X-Men and I’m even more confused about how the Stepford Cuckoo’s work.
They’re all the same person, the 5-in-1. So why in every story I read about them does 1 have such individual ideas and attitudes? Why did Esme completely turn away from her sisters?

Alan Wake II is one of my favourite games of all time despite only discovering it a couple of weeks ago.
I’ve never been so quickly taken with a games atmosphere the way i did with this.
The blend between live action and game play, the colour palettes, the acting and plot. It’s breathtaking.

Finished the Silver Surfer Omni and god these 2 issues just decimated me. It reminded me so much of Doctor Who (which I know was an influence on the series). Think I’ll need 2 to 3 business days to collect myself.

I went into this series a Penguin hater. And I still am. But Tom King’s Penguin might have the potential to be Dawn of DC’s best book.
