This "we'll still have normal elections in 2026/8 & the fundamentals of 🇺🇸 politics are unchanged" is the central cleavage among US political scientists today. As one far more worried that the democratic backsliing into competitive authoritarianism is well underway, I'd love to be proven wrong, but 😬

It’s not about credit, it’s about blame. If Trump really is responsible for the delay in releasing the hostages people deserve to know about it.
