lol “here’s your mortgage, wrapped! You paid a lot of money and it mostly went towards interest so you still owe a lot but hey, enjoy the house!”

Similar amounts of drooling and incoherent babbling, plus love of ketchup

They will pry my ibuprofen from my cold, dead hands. Especially now that I’m 40, it is *crucial* to my wellbeing

Friend’s husband was paralyzed in a year+ ago & has been in & out of the hospital ever since he was sent home. He had “good” insurance until he couldn’t work anymore & now they’re on hers but their costs are $$$$. My only “advice” is to live in a parallel universe where they’re in the UK or similar

When she doesn’t understand what they mean by “catch something” is so funny. “Like a fish? A person??”

But also I’m still emotionally traumatized by episode 8. Fair warning. It’s not just a gut punch. It’s a rip out your guts and stomp on them punch

I hope you finish this entire show today so I can vicariously relive watching it for the first time through you. I was about to say episodes 12-14 are the most intense but honestly they’re all intense in different ways. It’s so good

I am so happy about it and his speech was great! Literally just finished his memoir tonight

Social and cultural norms and basic human decency expected and mandatory for the Left but optional/a sign of weakness on the Right

I mean I’m trying to imagine the person who would deliberately and willingly listen to an AI podcast? The listens must be all accidental/unknowing by people who didn’t realize it was an AI podcast
September 9, 2025 at 8:39 PM
Oh do some of us get to become AI and some remain people? Or is this on a going forward basis with new babies/AI people as they’re born/created?

I am eagerly waiting for the days that my kids are old enough to watch it but also preemptively nervous because what if they don’t like it???

Care to have a word with your party leadership about this?? It’s not a “distraction,” it’s an existential threat to our democracy and the Democrats, as the opposition party are obligated to act accordingly with meaningful resistance, not just weak messaging

My dad had leg pain and went for an ultrasound in Italy to make sure it wasn’t a clot and he owed some small fee that their local friends were extremely apologetic and embarrassed about

Double rainbow at Carter Barron around 5:30pm today!

I have issues—significant issues—with Bowser's actions during this, but 90% of what happened today is about the background.

1. This is pretty clearly an effort to minimize the chances of Trump seeking to extend the emergency.

2. Federal law enforcement — as opposed to the troops — are always here.

I ran the mile in 18 minutes in high school for the annual fitness test and they made me do it again because they were convinced I’d just walked it instead. Joke was on them though - I really was just that slow

I didn’t go to my first CB until my late 20s when I was in a small Alabama town for a pro bono death penalty case and it was literally the only food near our hotel that was even kind of edible. Rd trips had always been East Coast N/S trips along 95 & we always went to rest stops

Yes! I keep trying to turn my friends onto the show too. I started with 19 and am working my way through a list of best Taskmaster series I found. So far we’ve watched 5, 7, and 15. Midway through 14 now
August 17, 2025 at 10:33 PM
I’m so excited we can watch the newer seasons now that hbo isn’t carrying them. I also recently started watching Taskmaster and while not exactly *wholesome*, its delightful nonsense chaos makes me happy. I started with Series 19 and Jason Mantzoukas is a delight

I’ve never thought twice before about going out in DC, a city we’ve lived in for the last 17+ years. Last night was literally the first time (maybe 2nd counting J6) that I’ve been even kind of worried about my safety in this city
August 17, 2025 at 8:37 PM
My husband & I went out for dinner last night (reservations made well before this “national emergency”) and I made sure he drove us since he’s a clean cut white guy and I’m ambiguously ethnic enough to possibly check a few different boxes if some a-hole manning a checkpoint wanted to be unpleasant

The meeting planner function is indispensable. Especially if you’re planning meetings with people in multiple time zones
July 24, 2025 at 3:41 AM
I have to schedule meetings with people in other time zones (incl. Australia) all the time and would be completely lost without the website timeanddate meeting planner function (www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/m...)
