I thought "green thumb" meant "magically lucky with plants," but then I started pruning my indoor tomatoes (to induce fruit + meditatively) and (while washing green off my hands) realized it means "putting in the work in a way outsiders don't understand." Are there similar sayings in other fields?

The x-axis shows lead levels in parts per billion (ppb), with ND indicating non-detectable amounts, and the y-axis shows the number of samples at each concentration level. Most samples cluster at low concentrations, creating a right-skewed distribution with a long tail extending to very high values. Three vertical lines mark important regulatory levels. Had some fun experimenting with the {gt} package for this week data from the UK Met Office on historical weather and climate.

A table summarizing five UK climate zones identified from historical Met Office data (1981–2010). Clusters were derived using k-means analysis based on temperature, rainfall, sunshine, and number of air frost days variables. Each row represents a cluster: the first column shows station locations, the second lists the number of stations, and the remaining six columns present key weather characteristics.

The deportation order is based on Vedam’s conviction for murder—a crime he did not actually commit and for which he’s now been wholly exonerated. He entered the US at 9 months old and was a legal permanent resident before his conviction. We are so, so, so far from the light of justice.

As of yesterday, what I think of as my "Bonsai Tomatoes" have been growing in my Aerogarden for a full year. They still produce tomatoes (I just harvested, so you can't see any red in the photo), but, more importantly, they still produce a ton of leaves, which I can trim to enter a meditative state.
