Camden's officers just seem to get it. Inspiring to see one borough that understands junction design being paramount to safety

This was Mrs Thomas's chair who lived in Finsbury Park from 1935 to 2000. It is still in the same house now.

Now our election and we have a new pair of coordinators as @microlambert.bsky.social and @liamduffy.dev become joint role holders.

Congratulations to them and a huge thanks to both @garmonap.bsky.social and @netwench.bsky.social who will be stepping away from @hackneylcc.bsky.social soon.

Now we have @tomfyans.bsky.social the @londoncycling.bsky.social CEO to talk about membership. He discusses the membership offer. Nearly half of new members come via word of mouth. So if you are a member please share the good work

OK, Quick Q&A:

What is the plan for cycling along Amhurst road at Mare Street?

A: a bus gate, operating 7-7. So no protected lanes.

Someone jokes that cyclists disappear at 7pm 🤣

Garmon finishes by saying we as a group want to get Hackney to high levels of cycling access. Making cycling a natural form of transport for everyone regardless of age, gender or ability.

Coming forward, they remain underwhelming. The delivered LTNs are less ambitious than discussed and the continued lack of camera use on some filters is problematic.

The good news is that some of the smaller stuff is being done well. Cycle parking and school streets remain a proud delivery area

Some great developments but also a couple of really disappointing schemes on the cards more recently.

OK, now on to the political asks that we had worked on. We had 5 asks that we put to the Mayor.

There remains a sense that Hackney has lost its way on delivery post pandemic. Whilst schemes are

OK, first up is our amazing coordinator @garmonap.bsky.social talking through what's been happening and what's still to come in the borough

Total bollocks. 40 years of LTN here in Hackney. 3 delivery drivers came to my house yesterday. No problem with trades either.

Its defo not our neighbours. But we have a lot of stolen phones being swapped in the street.
Fortunately, local Police are busy arresting grandmas in parliament rather than violent phone snatchers

Don't think so. We have also had 2 police officers visit. Today was a Japanese tourist with very little English.

July 3, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Yes! Or this fine example of a road in Hackney which doesn't seem to face any scrutiny from certain former cllrs
July 3, 2025 at 9:27 PM
It's the usual reductive nonsense from people with an agenda that doesn't stand up to a moments scrutiny.
July 3, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Yes we could ban driveways, in the same way the MP in question wants to ban cycle paths. The question is, why is one suggestion unthinkable but the other deemed OK?
