The grassroots of labour really need to send the message back up the chain how fucked they will be if the central leadership doesn’t change tack.
You’ve already lost right leaning people to reform. And you have already lost left leaning people like me to actual progressive causes.

Anyway.. sigh. It feels like a huge loss, and I feel silly in a way but these little things are the parts of your life that feel precious.
I first ever listened to IOT when I was a 15 year old on my way to a fracture clinic with my dad, and for that reason it will always feel special.

I wish I didn't feel that way, but part of me worries that the kind of presenter that Melvyn was doesn't exist in today's broadcasting world. It was never about virality, or scandal or what was buzzworthy, it was always just about the search for knowledge.

I am worried about it's future.. if ever a person embodied the programme they presented it was Melvyn and IOT. He was a relentlessly curious polymath who's enthusiasm for the subject material was matched by his own vast knowledge. I'm not sure who on earth can even begin to fill those shoes.

That programme very much transformed my life, opening my mind up to things I've never heard about, encouraging a curiosity I still have at the right old age of 35 and something that provoked many a conversation with people - me usually trying to convince them to start listening!

Oh! Yes, Thunderbirds did it first

My hopes were low for Starmer and his bunch when they got into power. But it's staggering just how low they've stooped. Attacking all of their allies, failing to placate the worst of their enemies.
We're ushering in Farage and his gang and once that happens, we're truly fucked.

Massive for us having the CL - hopefully that keeps the big names like Isak, Bruno, Gordon.
Props to Isak for failing to score during the run in to decrease the interest 😏
