Natural Science and Photography, but mainly Birds 🐦 | Cambridgeshire County Bird Recorder | Born at 356 ppm
Hi! That's great that he has started birdwatching, are there any particular birds you both want to see? Morning or evening is when the birds are most active but if you sit somewhere overlooking Dickerson's Pit you should see a good variety of species.

Yes I'm the same, it makes for a more interesting photo. Love the colours in this one

It's the same in Cambridgeshire, with regular escapes, often unringed, from a notorious collection. Records of Ferruginous Duck in particular are now almost impossible to assess

Yes one was reported to me in April from MW. I think it was only heard on one day and not seen

Huge thanks to Chris Percival for her caring of the Manxie, and taking it to be released, plus the Manx Shearwater Rescue Group for their advice. Also credit to Caron Pattern and her dog Barney who found the bird in their garden.

I guess what really needs to happen is addressing the drivers of the decline, which is really tough for migratory species. Poor Turtle Doves have it all stacked against them

Willow Tit long gone from Cambs now sadly. Marsh Tit are quickly disappearing from a lot of woods though hanging on in some areas. LS Woodpecker all but gone
