When he's waiting to let people overtake, we also say a very cheery hello! Or Good Morning!
I know he slows us a bit, but i see it as a kind of duty to let him, in the hope that others will be so kind to me one day, I'd I'm still able to be so active at that age.

Exactly the same time. Nearly killed me, but my pride couldn't let her just stroll past!

So today, instead of giving way when she was right behind me, I started my next length. I could feel her right on my toes, as she moved to overtake.
And I made damn sure she didn't seem past me. I finished the length at
2.5/3

When she surfaces, her mouth is a perfect O as she draws in breath. Reminds me of those old style gas masks.
