Knitter, crocheter, reader, coffee lover, cheese nibbler.
Dreams of writing. One day...
Mum, wife, good friend.
It's my birthday tomorrow.
So I'm toasting the end of my 4th decade with a glass of Speyside Whisky, from the Strathisla Distillery, which was bought for my 40th.

Here's to whatever the next decade will bring. I go forward with my heart full, and head high.
*and possibly a slight headache....

I'm here to tell you.

Please grasp the joy that is right in front of you.

The world is sh!t in many ways.
It's easy to see the negatives.

But joy, from seeing a seedlings first leaves, to the smell of rain on hot concrete.

It's there. Right in front of you.
Grasp all the joy and revel in it!

Had a lovely family walk in the bluebell woods.
So nice to get out, listen to the birds, and relax in nature

I'd had such a good day. Came out of work absolutely buzzing with life.
Now sat on my own, listening to 80's and 90's tunes and feeling lonely and old

For the first time ever,I've recorded a selfie-vid.
It's to apologise for my presence. And to hope to be worth something, someday

Pool Tales.
The Bobber.

The Bobber is a sleek, determined, and rather rude young lass. She's there most days. She's faster than most in the medium lane, and boy, doesn't she just know it!

She wears a tight swim cap, very round goggles. She does a speedy breast stroke, going underwater

Pool Tales, pt 1.

I'll start with the characters I've met.

The Gentleman.

He's in his late 70's to mid 80's. He's there every morning I've turned up. He is slow, but he gives it his ALL. Full Wellie!
He'll stop after every length to let some folks go past.

He only does about 20 lengths a day.

I've had a few health issues rear their ugly heads over the past few weeks.

Ultimately, I should be fine, but let's say I've had a warning shot across the bow, and I need to make some changes.

Amongst other things, I've started to swim in the mornings.

'Pool Tales' will be my record....

For context, I used to go to school with the amazing woman who is Dr Ben Neuman's wife.

I trust him far more than anything this guy has to say.

What a lovely weekend. Easy. Relaxed.

Seeing the steam rise from melting frost, and the moon and Venus shining bright.

The hubsters birthday is tomorrow, so today we took the kids and their partners out for lunch.

Losing access to running water in our area for 2 days is certainly eye-opening.

No flushing toilets, washing hands, cleaning clothes, rinsing food.....

And, damn, I missed showering in the morning!

Beyond happy to be able to shower and wash my hair again!

It's been a good weekend.
Time spent with family and friends.

Time spent on me.

And Time spent on ticking off my list of 'stuff' to do.

And I'm happy to say, I've done pretty much all of the list.

It may be p!ssing it down outside, but I'm going to sleep feeling happy and accomplished.

Night!!

On the topic of birds!
🤣🤣🤣

*I don't endorse this 'paper', it's website or anything related to it, but this is funny!

It's the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend.
In an effort to attract birds back to the garden, I bought a new feeding station with 6 arms and lots of different types of feeder.

So far, I've attracted precisely one fat pigeon. So I guess it's been a success!

It's been a long week.
But I'm happy. Chilling with friends, and the hustler, is one of the best ways to relax on a Friday night

I feel this is going to be me for most of today.
Oh dear!

I'm done with guilt. And shame.

I will no longer feel guilty if I don't track every calorie, or walk every one of my allocated steps.

I will no longer feel awful if I haven't updated my apps, or ticked every box, or completed every workout.

Guilt and shame have no place here anymore.

In other news, it's a beautiful, cold (-4°c) morning here, and I'm having a lazy start.

Have a good day all 😊

THIS! This is what my group works for.

It's so lovely to get such feedback, and to see the joy our efforts bring.

So cross.
Just found out that a family who have taken multiple (20+), free blankets from my craft group, are using them for their dogs. In their dog beds, and on the sofas to protect from dog hair.
Because our blankets are knitted and crocheted, the dogs ruin them, so they take even more.
