On vacation in September I rode up the west coast of Michigan with my brother and cousin. There was a restaurant in Ludington with a picture and history of the sinking. I'd had no idea it was so recent (though I guess 50 years is a long time).

It doesn't really matter exactly why she's doing it. She's ahead of the curve, realizing Trump isn't going to be on the ballot again, and thinking about her political survival. Unlike, say, Johnson, who seems like a deer in the headlights, looking at what's heading for him.

People don't appreciate how enormous a change this will be. The past 300 years have been defined by the search for and exploitation of energy resources by European nations—timber, coal, oil, natural gas. That's soon to be over.

The filibuster has blocked so much progressive legislation. It's why we don't have a public option in the ACA for example. I'm with you.
