Meanwhile, the USA's self-appointed role in this world is not only meddling and influencing but also dominating everyone else's domestic and foreign policies. (Hence, Trump's tariff "strategy.")

Wonderful, generous, kind people will only let you push them so far. And I mean that. 🇨🇦

A classic comeback win to end a classic series that saw the Blue Jays go down 0-2 at home but rebound to win 4 of 5. We'll remember this for a long, long time. American League champs and World Series-bound!!! #OKBlueJays

Trump "fell short" of winning the Nobel Peace Prize in the same way that I fell short of being the No. 1 pick in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.

Are there still any lingering questions over the best team in the American League East in 2025? ⚾️☝️

"The Blue Jays are not a first-place team, I’m sorry." - Yankees mouthpiece Michael Kay, July 2, 2025.

Ninety-four wins, including eight in 13 games against the Yankees, say otherwise, Mikey. Enjoy the Wild Card Series! 🖕😁

In the late 1960s, President Lyndon Johnson was annoyed by comedians like the Smothers Brothers who often mocked and made fun of him.

But, rather than insulting or threatening them, Johnson demonstrated true leadership by praising and thanking them instead. He wrote to them, in part:

Two doddering old kings: Charles the Third, and Donald the Turd. 👑 💩

They actually have something very significant in common. Both are who and where they are today due entirely to circumstances of birth and not because of any special abilities they may have, such as philandering.

Ken Dryden's masterwork. If hockey is played for 1,000 more years and writers keep writing about it all that time, they'll still be looking upon this book as the thing they'll aspire to and never reach.

And, speaking personally, I'm okay with that. 🙂

RIP Slap Shot co-star Stephen Mendillo, aka Charlestown Chiefs' alternate captain, laundry critic, and reluctant fashion show participant Jim Ahern. He passed away Wednesday at age 84.

Steve was a native of New Haven, CT, where his first hockey coach was New York Rangers iron man Murray Murdoch.

Email I received today from the U.S. State Department.

Part of me isn't sure renewing my passport is worth the $130 (USD). Part of me is hopeful that if I do renew, the criminal clown in the White House will vacate it one way or another at some point during the 10 years that it'll be valid. 🤞🙏

"A big, beautiful triple, possibly the best triple ever. Many people are saying they've never seen a triple like it. The GM of the Yankees, big guy, never cried before, but he says to me, tears in his eyes, "Sir, sir, if we had nine guys who could hit triples like that, we'd never lose a game."

Fun Fact: If the Washington Commanders were to revert to their original name, they'd have to also change cities. They'd look pretty silly playing in Washington as the Boston Braves.

Similarly, the Cleveland Guardians would have to move back to Columbus, where they were founded as the Buckeyes.

Best stadium in MLB.

Also the only current MLB stadium I've ever been in, so there might be a correlation.
