i.e. folks on non means-tested benefits like PIP will not be monitored (and permanent exclusion for those on the state pension alone is hard written into the legislation) assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/67dc37...

I picked the surviving apples from the tree in my garden this morning. Sadly lost most of them: a) I’m too late picking them and they’ve started to go rotten 🤦🏾♂️ and b) the grubs have really been feasting this year! 🍽️🐛

So many Cities of Sanctuary e.g. almost all cities and boroughs in the Birmingham metropolitan area. But Wales (the British flag I was born under ⚰️) as a Nation of Sanctuary gives it symbolic relevance. But it is self-servingly symbolic, at least measuring the 12 UK regions that house asylum seekers

Imagine us telling these stories on BBC now, with a captive audience with only four channels and no internet as such etc.! (Good riddance to British political blackness of course, even though we try to force Black folks to be in solidarity with us with "people of colour" etc. all over the west now)

Hanif Kureishi (who included white characters but not to pander to white viewers, unlike e.g. Bend it Like Beckham) on TV too, like The Buddha of Suburbia. It "outraged" the tabloids in the 1990s because of the "adult scenes" on BBC, but they'd be outraged about different things now 😭

Summary from DWPhelp subreddit (Big not Bog Brother Watch!) Off-topic but the UC and PIP bill has only slightly registered in the disability and benefits forums. So much bandwidth taken with the DWP violence folks already suffer day-to-day on UC and UC health old.reddit.com/r/DWPhelp/co...

Really wish more of us would focus on the violence of these machine learning and other artificial intelligence systems targeting the very most vulnerable, instead of still centring generative AI going after creatives etc. Long report but please read if we can 🙏🏾 bigbrotherwatch.org.uk/campaigns/we...

BBC economics editor noting no change in gilt yields (don't know how much of an indicator this is, I'm not BBC economics editor!) after the amendment and vote last night. i.e. so they weren't bothered. But was at the chancellor's (now perhaps unrelated) distress in the commons! x.com/faisalislam/...
