I think that the bill, as is, would need a supermajority because it goes into effect right away. (From what I read.) Change the effective date to June 1, 2026, and then you'd only need a majority. Weird quirk in the Constitution.

The real kicker is that, in Morales, the courts were pretty concerned that, besides being vague, the ordinance gave the police so much authority to decide who did and didn't violate the law.

Doesn't sound familiar at all does it.
