Does the president do anything besides watch Fox News and read truth social, get annoyed about stuff and throw out random punitive numbers to his lackeys. Because it sure seems that way.

The 'democrats' didn't have them, the DOJ did. Biden had no authority to demand their release, nor any reason to know what was in them. When the country vaguely ran as it should, there was grand jury secrecy, appeals still going, judicial restraint etc. Trump/MAGA wanted them public.

Remarks by @newyorkstateag.bsky.social at press conference on states' AG's lawsuit to protect SNAP recipients.
"What was the point of the federal government's cruelty this weekend? Why subject people to prolonged anxiety and fear? It is not an abstraction. Real people are hurting. They are hungry."

I believe I'm going to win the lottery and I don't even play the lottery. That's how stupid that sounds.

Both Trump and Mamdani understand that a substantial amount people vote on how they feel, they don't spreadsheet the pros and cons of economic policy, they want someone 'on their side'. Tony Blair destroyed his legacy with Iraq, but the 'feel good factor' put UK Labour into power for 3 terms.
