In Borges' short story 'The Other', a 70+ Borges speaks to his younger self about the blindness that will later afflict him: 'You'll be able to see the colour yellow and light and shadow. But don't worry. Gradual blindness is not tragic. It's like the slowly growing darknesss of a summer evening.' 😭
