Another video from our pit stop during the @Vivaldi outing. Just a note, this shows only a small part of the lights. The light bands were stretching across the sky, but it is hard to get a good video looking straight up, so I chose one part of the sky with […]

I asked Windows 10 users what they were planning to do as Windows 10 stops getting free updates. The answers may surprise you.

Only 9% plan to move to Windows 11. 1% plan to pay for updates. 22% want to keep using Windows 10, even without security updates […]

I think this survey from GBH says a lot, even though it is on the Fediverse. Overall the impact of AI that is the most visible to us is negative. It is not even close.

I do believe AI has its use, but what we are seeing on the Internet is not that use at […]

Results of my little survey. Why is Linux growing?

19% believe it is because of sunsetting of OS versions. Microsoft is forcing Windows 11 on people and a lot of people are not happy with that and some are just not able to run it. So with a choice of […]

I asked the question : Do you want a laptop with Copilot+?

1% said yes.
96% said (hell) no.
3% were not sure.

This is a great example of something being pushed that most really do not want.

Big Tech is very focused on winning the AI war. Problem is […]

What belongs in a spending bill? Banning states from regulating AI and algorithmic content for a decade? Seriously?

Quote is from NY Times.

All the cool cars get Vivaldi! This is a great example, spotted at Oslo Airport.

When you have cars like this, why would anyone get a Tesla?

I have been driving EVs now for the last 5 years and they are generally more fun and less hassle.

Vivaldi is right now the most popular mobile app in Norway as people seek alternatives to Big Tech. I hope you give us a try as well, if you have not already!

I asked you whether it mattered to you where your browser company is located and where your browser is made.

83% said it mattered. 17% said it did not.

Everybody HATES Tesla.

That is what the numbers show us. I asked if you would buy a Tesla if you were to buy a car and 98% said no. Many of you added some expletives to that.

I guess this also shows us that the Fediverse is unique.

The Fediverse is unique.

I asked you whether you had switched from Big Tech. This is what you answered.

69% Switched a long time ago.
13% Just switched.
15% Are about to switch.
3% Do not want to switch and love Big Tech.

I guess this makes sense. You […]

So what is your primary transportation vehicle? I asked and you answered.

I guess there is not a lot of you flying to work, but in general there is a lot of variety. Nice to see so many of you walking, biking and using public transport!👍

A third of you […]

There are likely quite a few you have not tried, though. Some of the others we made include:

- Opera […]

The Fediverse is unique.

My survey asked what your favorite search engine is.

51% said DuckDuckGo, 12% Startpage, 9% Ecosia and 4% Qwant. Only 6% said Google and 1% Bing. 17% said they preferred another search engine, with many mentioning Kagi and […]

One the many popular features in Vivaldi is mouse gestures. Have you tried them?

You need to enable mouse gestures in settings. They work using the mouse and through another setting, you make them work on the trackpad as well (using ALT) […]
