They turned out so much better than I thought they would, quite excited for them now!

Yeah, I think my point is that, whilst it can be the aspect of her game most under scrutiny, she's shown it before too. So it's just nothing new.

Encouraging for me would be showing it more consistently.

But in general I'm saying it's encouraging from a team perspective seeking answers

Yeah, just heard. I was sure we'd miss the boat on him anyway with timing and being in demand. Just felt a good candidate

Though as Jamie mentioned, I would still rather see things changed above before any managerial change, even if both may be needed soon.

I think it's unbelievably poor of us to have things as they are for so long BTS. A more ruthless mind there is needed, detached from other connections.

@tim-stillman.bsky.social @jamiespangher.bsky.social The manager I had in mind before Renée was Mak Lind of BK Häcken as I was impressed with his teams, how they played from the back & especially the variety of pressing schemes.

He's since won the Damallsvenskan.

He would be my choice again if so

... additional athleticism next to Steph to perhaps balance out the backline a touch more?

With Holmberg attacking up the right.

Slightly random Q but throwing it out there 😄
November 17, 2025 at 12:58 AM
With Holmberg reportedly joining, and Katie seemingly in a battle for her shirt and in a contract year, could you foresee a scenario of Holmberg at RB and Fox at LB where she played a lot for NCC?

Foxy's less of an outside back & inverts a lot. Would much therefore be lost whilst also adding...

I have so many questions but they are all like 7 pages deep 😄😞
November 16, 2025 at 11:12 PM
And it also felt like more misuse of the players.

Did the Stina sub have to happen AGAIN? Could Mariona have moved higher up to unlock? Was there not a tactical change of any note to give a different look?

I even feel Russo & Smith might as well swap late on to have Smith's pace highest.

😞?

Against Bayern it felt like the most naive display under Renée to lose control of the game. From initial sub choices to then not changing a thing tactically to help the team and instead just changing personnel.

Against Spurs it was similarly frustrating that only personnel changed once again...

I had never seen that but very much have been my thoughts all along.

My fear was not providing any next manager with quite enough support in all kinds of ways.

But also just knowing the psychological differences from what a person inherits, their initial phase and what new expectations can bring
November 16, 2025 at 7:39 PM
I think Leah is also affecting the midfield a fair amount. But we don't really seem to have tried too much different for a while now and potentially with the personnel/balance it's a frustrating challenge
November 16, 2025 at 5:41 PM
... And the Jenna situation. That and KCC just leave the feeling that the club needed to move them on if not favoured this much & it's a little curious why it is how it is.

If Renée was happy then fine, it's on her to use players. But Wheatley has been missing all season now.

I think I just feel at 2-2, worsening control, players struggling all over needing and wanting help, away from home with big support and all the momentum, the coach's job at that point is to help with that and see the game out that way. Perhaps still get a goal. But I just think it was super naive.
November 13, 2025 at 1:49 AM
The 2nd set of subs was the chance to add the 3rd midfielder, really, but we didn't.

Then I find the Smith sub off, too, because it felt surely that was the time to finally add another body.

Maybe at this point because Stina was off Liv was seen as the release valve and needed. But bad call imo.
November 13, 2025 at 12:24 AM
... And I'm just not sure it was necessary to take Stina off for a couple of reasons:

1 is it just always feels set in stone no matter what.

2 is a little in hindsight but when we really needed to put an extra player deeper to help the control we then had no stretch & relieve pressure.
