Finally in the final stretch! Worked on it a lot and was able to get parts 1 and 2 in states that I am really happy with in terms of story. That being said, will prob scale back the end portion. For sure just final touches (hopefully) then ALBOS would be complete

Finally have time to work on the project (yippie). Thankfully, the me of before was able to figure out the technical side of the game, now it's a matter of filling in the space to make the environment feel lived in and have the story come to fruition. Last of the undergrad grind!

While I was looking at my classmates' projects, one of them had done games in web. Was curious about the API they used so I looked it up and, low and behold, a framework geared towards game-making entirely called phaser.js! There's a whole section of games made using their framework

Finished my Capstone project for Interactive Media called "The American Dream?" Piece together the puzzle to reveal the story of how the American Dream ideology came and crumbled what it means to have community. Please check it out!

Got the first level for the most part fleshed out! Don't think it's good enough for the showcase sadly but at least the cat is animated in ! Found a big bug while I was testing out something else but alas the lack of time hit

After modeling, animating, and rigging the cat, I encountered an issue with exporting a model with the animation baked into Unity. (And it kept on falling through the world) Took a 4 day break because that was devastating. And worked on another project

Eye spy with my little eyes, an issue: my trigger code wasn't working. That's right! I forgot to toggle the box collider on. But I'm really happy to get the code for basic intractability to work. I also started importing more assets for the visuals!

A little bit of a retroactive log, but this morning I achieved the cell shader effect...however to make it work/interact with additional light...I have to switch over to the Universal Render Pipeline because the custom code I'm trying to put in needs to pull from the URP package

On another note, delved into Adam Robinson-Yu's work for a pecha kucha and dang his game jam games are really well put together. Some personal favs are "I'll take you to tomato town" and "The Secret of Dank Mountain" (both free to play btw) Love how experimental and wacky these are

For the alpha build, I mainly focused on making the fixed camera keep the character on screen, having a fluid moving cat, and having colliders paired with the light to progress the story. Need to continue working on the world space, but I'm constraining myself to a set color scheme

Not going to lie, this past week has been really hectic so I completely forgot to show my progress for my game “A Lil’ Bit of Sunshine” Hoping to take the weekend both for respite and expanding the storyline and start touching the visual effects I want to work on

Got most of what I wanted done, well done! That final push was definitely rough but this was a good exercise in trying to balance what I know what to do and what I want to achieve. Was able to get sound elements in (yay)

Significantly scaled back from my initial brainstorm of the game--had trouble with incrementally changing the color of the materials of instantiated objects and made my brain promptly explode. Went about it a different way but seems to work!

Did work on a new game last night and finally have some functionality in the gameplay! Really happy that I was able to make progress (got stuck on details) Hoping to get the ending conditions in place--hoping to add in some sound but decided to scale back some aspects

Playing Diving Bell! Really enjoying the visuals and the distortion effect of the water. While the controls are simple (just space to go down, let go to go up) it allows the writing to get highlighted

Finished a basis for the game copy--wanted to work more on doing an enemy-respawn system after the level is "cleared" but alas decided to pull my scopes back a little. Learned a lot about different object interactions/collisions so I call this experience a win!

Added a pixel texture to the renderer (thank you YouTube tutorial), did for font styling and making a basic background to ground the scene. Coded in the basis for score calculations via a score manager script. Gonna work on having enemies tomorrow!

Started working on remaking a classic arcade game, Space Invaders, in Unity. Coded the ship positioning and had the game instantiate the bullet prefab. Need to figure out how to delete the bullet clones after they leave or destroy an enemy object, but it's time to take a break

Coding in the dialouge and the dialouge changes were..rough to say the least. I was stuck on having the string array not initialize for the longest time, but changed/updated it in the interface and got it to work. Need to figure out how to transition to the next set of text options

Decided to have a plan going into this project instead of jumping right into it like before. Spent the last couple of hours working on executing my idea visually (took forever ngl) before delving into the coding side and was able to get the scene-changing code working!

Started playing universal paper clips for the first game! Reminded us of a cookie clicker-esq gameplay with the autoclipper. Interesting way to show supply and demand in a simple text way

After working with familiar languages (HTML, CSS, and JS) all year, it's been a second since I've learned a new language. In terms of writing the code, it felt both familiar in terms of logic but different in syntax. Outlined the game before starting (definitely a lifesaver)!
