Made a Shiitake quiche with ham, cheese and spinach (aka a "clean out your fridge quiche) and it was fantastic.

I'm sure that had nothing to do with the POUND of shiitake mushroom and quarter cup of butter I cooked them in 🤣

Starting with my first trip to Japan, I discovered I really love visiting shrines and temples, and began collecting goshuin. Here's my current goshuincho that has a fully filled front side!
A small book with purple embroidery on white fabric and a plastic see-through covering. It has a paper title with "Shuin Book" written in Japanese calligraphy on its lefthand side. It is a goshuincho, which means "honorable stamp/seal book" that is used to collect painted or paper goshuin (red seals). The seals are used a mark of pilgrimage to various shrines and temples. The paper inside is heavy enough to accept calligraphy work, and unfolds like an accordion as opposed to being bound at the spine.

I was pleased to find a shinto shrine here in Los Angeles (Shinto Shrine of Shussen Inari of America)! I was able to purchase a goshuin (red seal stamp) for my goshuincho.

Happy New Year! ✨

Being that we're too old for NYE parties anymore, this year me and some friends instead decided to head to Little Tokyo for the big New Year's Day Celebration. We got omamori, ate delicious food, got fortunes, and had a day that beats the hell out of being hungover and useless!

Resplendent in her holo-shimmer wings and linear-holographic hair & hooves, Holocorn can cause severe eye damage if stared at while in direct sun. Technically an alicorn, her feathers are coveted as the rare ingredient in indie nail polishes (and hunted by Lisa Frank nearly to extinction) #juneicorn

Look down there! It's a bug! It's a very tiny piece of lint! It's... microscopic. You can't see that, stop lying. Through the Microcorn is the smallest by weight, it is by far the hardiest. Able to live in extreme environments from tundras to volcanoes, it is nigh indestructible. #juneicorn
