Questions are being asked regarding the application of carrageenan within the scope of the Reinheitsgebot, so an appropriate methodology would be required to help answer some of these questions.

Thanks @nigelsadler.bsky.social and @thebeerfather.bsky.social.

Our lab at the VLB has made various attempts over the years but with limited success and not really enough demand to warrant the time and effort.

Yep, lots of different available methods but no consensus for brewing samples. Or labs offering this as a service.

I really appreciate that Ayinger is one of the few German breweries to include the bottling date on the label.

Congratulations!

This article provided some major inspiration for my upcoming Crossmas trip. Night train from Berlin to Brussels on the 25th to watch the UCI races in Gavere and Dendermonde, then back home via Bonn to visit my in-laws.

1. Don't bother with the inverted method (too much hassle)
2. Always double filter, no pre-rinse
3. Slow plunge (between 30-60 seconds) for a clean cup

I like the Röstkurve for coffee. Sadly, I can't really think of any decent bars. Brauhaus Bönnsch is okay if you like Schnitzel and curvy glassware.
