Spinal Tap is a blast, but Stand By Me is, IMO, Reiner’s masterpiece, and one of the finest coming of age films ever made. I recommend it highly.

Beautiful. Wish I’d seen the B’way production, but the Nichols film is astoundingly good. FYI, Amazon is selling the DVD of Longtime Companion, which has been out of print for nearly 20 years. Kramer’s Normal Heart, Angels and L. Companion are essential reminders of the 80s when so many were lost.
