Well by definition it is reaching infinity then. When you can't focus on the horizon it's an issue.

By kit I mean the cheap as chip dx types that are bundled with the cameras at a discount.
The gear I use for jobs costs a mint and weighs a ton by comparison. Truly annoying to carry about when you are just taking pics for fun.
I often just slap on a 18-140 cheap(ish) kit zoom for that. Still good.

Just don't spend too much. Good Tokina is very good these days but I don't know anything about that lens.
The inability to infinity focus on digital forced quite a few old film lenses out of the game. Another reason I always trawl the reviews on old gear & try to herd cheapskates towards kit lenses.
