Zohran Mamdani's campaign resumed door-to-door canvassing across the city today with an eye toward reaching voters who were not eligible to vote in the Dem primary. About 100 volunteers gathered at Prospect Park before leaving to talk w/voters in the nearby Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood.

Hundreds of people with disabilities protested in the streets of NYC on Saturday to mark the 35th Anniversary of the American Disability Act. Emotions were high as they demanded no cuts to services, no cuts to Medicaid and to protect and enforce the ADA. Photos: Chae Kihn/The Indypendent

We hit the streets over the weekend with our post-election special edition which focuses on the mass movement of everyday New Yorkers who powered Zohran's historic defeat of Andrew Cuomo and the Democratic Party establishment.

I appeared on Democracy Now twice in the week leading up to the June 24 primary to talk about the NYC mayor's race, ranked choice voting and why Zohran Mamdani was rapidly graining ground on Andrew Cuomo. Good times!

Signs of the times from today's May Day march.
May 2, 2025 at 3:32 AM
Amid all the ugliness going on, marching down Broadway on May Day with live music from a mariachi band feels like a good way to go.

Hot off the presses! I went to the printing plant in Queens tonight to pick up copies of our new issue. Our main citywide distro push begins Tuesday. However, we'll be distributing copies at this Saturday's big @nywfp.bsky.social rally and march from Foley Square. One more good reason to be there!

Several hundred New Yorkers rallied today in Washington Sq
and then marched down Broadway to City Hall. They demanded that Gov. Kathy Hochul remove Mayor Eric Adams after he cut a deal w/ the Trump admin to have his corruption charges dropped in return for aiding Trump's mass deportation campaign.
