NEPA environmental review resulted in a Record of Decision which authorized taxpayer funding to acquire hundreds of homes and businesses to be razed to accommodate the tracks for this passenger train line. Efforts to halt the carbon generating construction of the line continue at smartertransit.org.

Brent, what's your stand on carbon generation from construction of *new* passenger rail -- e.g. Seattle Light Rail phase 3 extensions & Vancouver Skytrain additions? Seattle West Seattle LRT extension forecasts construction carbon unmitigated by five decades of low carbon mobility after opening.
