Here, you can see the slight difference between QW's stance this year (1st picture; more weight on feet, but down, head up) and his stance when he played with Whitecotton (2nd image; more forward in stance with more weight on hands, but higher, head not up as far).

Reverting back to the stance with Whitecotton should unlock his pass-rush production to be more in line with previous years.

Watching Quinnen Williams when Whitecotton was in NY, which is when QW had his best pass-rush production, and QW's stance was slightly different, more weight on front hand with a higher backside, enabled him to get off the ball quicker, and a big reason why he was so effective.

Shotty mentioned this in the presser but another positive from Quinnen's stance is that it enables him to get his first two steps in the ground immediately quickly, enabling him to generate incredible amounts of force when initiating contact with OL.

I think the stance hurts him a little more rushing the passer because it can cause his pad level to swell while also slowing his get-off. I think it, plus a plethora of doubles, is the biggest reason he's pass-rush production is unimpressive this year.

However, it can also cause his pads to swell and can make him slightly susceptible to getting reached and hooked on zone runs. Nonetheless, Williams' rotational power, upper body strength and disciplined footwork enable him to still be effective even under those circumstances.

If you've noticed from the clips above, QW plays from a pseudo-frog stance (but down, weight mostly on feet instead of distributed more on hands). It helps him in the run game because he can see block paths and take on blocks square with a good initial fit with his hands/feet.
