Here's something Len Wein told me for a Marvel oral history I wrote in 2009.
![Len Wein: I have not seen a dime off of any of the Marvel stuff. Nor do I have a credit on the Wolverine film. Hugh [Jackman] is a lovely man, and I was invited to the premiere, and it was a huge Hollywood crowd. Hugh went up in front of the audience to thank the cast and crew, and then called me out and made me stand up and told the entire room that he owed his career to me, and he told me to take a bow. It was very gratifying, very touching and very nice. I am currently running 4 groups. All of them play once every two weeks, always the same night of the week, and it works beautifully.
I have a friend who runs a group that plays once a month, but not on a consistent schedule, and every time we play he has to ask everyone's availability. It's awful.

If the rider is 130' away, move up 30' and attack with Magic Missile or Guiding Bolt.
Or, ready an attack for when the scout gets close to fire.
There are lots of ways to deal with this.

Range with even a shortbow is 320', you just have disadvantage after the first 80'.
So, the PCs with bows attack while the cleric heals.
Definitely not a TPK.

Wizards has made virtually every other past rulebook available on DM's Guild. The 2014 books will show up there at some point.
