Not all of us are daughters! One factor that the author doesn't touch on is that in many (most) families there's usually one or two who take up the bulk of the caregiving while the other kids sit and watch...

33% is his with-him-to-the-end base, they're not going anywhere. It will be interesting though to see how they intend to twist the loss of health insurance subsides as the Democrats fault, especially since so many of his base count on that.

ZM seems almost RFK-like in his ability to connect with voters. In '68 a majority of the electorate were open to his message. I don't get the sense today that non-college whites in swing states feel the same way...

I think he'll lean more deeply into unseemly biz arrangements, since those will be the only ones open to him. He'll try to re-legitimize himself with a book, do publicity for it with an interview by Mark Halperin, but his appearance on a late night informercial promoting gold bars seems inevitable.

Honestly though, does it matter who he bows to? His failure to give deference can't be punished. The biggest loss for him in my view is that he'll never darken the door of the palace again, and he'll be watching the future weddings of William's children with the rest of us on TV.
