Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for the Horsham Constituency working towards a brighter future. Promoted by the Liberal Democrats, 1 Vincent Square, London SW1 2PN.
🗣️ Yesterday, I spoke about the government's approach to planning and the chaos it's causing for the Horsham District.

I've asked the Minister to meet with me to ensure his actions won't just sacrifice our environment, but will actually deliver the affordable housing we need.

🗣️ Yesterday I spoke in Parliament about the need for credible action to meet the UK’s carbon budget.

With transport now the largest source of emissions, the government can’t keep ignoring the environmental impact of airport expansion like #Gatwick.

Fascinating to take part in #EvidenceWeek and discuss how publicly funded research can tackle our major challenges, from improving access to essential services to combating climate change.

It was great to meet with Windracers and SeaCURE to hear how they're innovating in their sectors.

🗣️ Today, we're calling for an emergency 5% VAT cut for hospitality businesses, as well as a cut to energy bills, at the upcoming budget.

We want to put money back into people's pockets and help our local businesses to thrive.

⚽ Fantastic morning at the BHAFC Foundation Inclusive Football Session at The Holbrook Club last week!

Brilliant to see so many people enjoying accessible, disability-friendly football.

Thank you to Luke Frost and the team for their work on these sessions.

This morning, I joined the #ArmisticeDay commemorations in Horsham to remember all those who gave their lives in service, and those who still live with the cost of war.

A reminder of how vital it is that we stand together in the face of division and continue to push for peace today.

🚌 I recently met with Matt Roberts, CEO of Community Transport Sussex (CTS), to discuss improvements to local transport. CTS is a charity that provides accessible transport across Horsham and West Sussex, with the main objective of reducing social isolation and loneliness.

🤝 I had an important meeting recently with Horsham campaigner Andrew Turner and Ed Davey to discuss unlocking Child Trust Funds for young people with disabilities.

Andrew has been a tireless advocate on this issue, making his case to eight different justice ministers.

Honoured to plant a tribute in the House of Commons Garden of Remembrance yesterday on behalf of Horsham constituents.

As we approach Remembrance Sunday, we must pause and reflect on the unimaginable courage and sacrifice of so many who have served our country.

🗣️ On Monday, I spoke about the urgent need to tackle court delays.

A constituent in Horsham saw her abuser's trial delayed for two years due to a lack of capacity, by which time they had breached restraining orders twice. Victims deserve so much better than this.

This British Beauty Week, I had the pleasure of visiting some of our wonderful local beauty businesses!

The Liberal Democrats know how important it is to support local businesses like these, and we will continue to push for policies to help our beauty industry thrive.

🗣️ The government's target of 10% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) by 2030 is repeatedly used to justify its decisions on major airport expansions like Gatwick. We are calling for real progress towards net-zero aviation and SAF delivers genuine carbon reductions not greenwashing.

I recently joined Duchenne UK in Parliament. I'm pleased that some Horsham patients can now access givinostat through the Early Access Programme.

However, we're still waiting for NICE's final decision on wider NHS approval - a decision that's already been delayed by three months.

🌾 I'm pleased to announce that I'm chairing the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Rural Business and the Rural Powerhouse.

I visited Trenchmore Farm in Cowfold to hear first-hand about the incredible opportunities and real challenges facing rural businesses.

I recently visited Freeman Brothers Funeral Directors in Horsham, one of the town's oldest independent businesses, now celebrating its 170th anniversary.

It's great to see the team's long-standing commitment to compassionate care and dignity for local families.

✍️ I've joined my Lib Dem colleagues in writing to the Health Secretary about our hospice crisis. We're calling on the government to end the postcode lottery of care and exempt hospices from the NI increase.
