Get parents of prospective students in the phone!

Ask them about their child’s:
✅ musical goals
✅ personality
✅ learning style

Understanding these things will lead to better results, and better retention. Much more so than, “what time works for you.”

Don’t give students a reason to quit if they love it!

Music instructor: “your child needs to spend 20 minutes per day practicing.”

Parent: “We’re dropping because my kid just isn’t practicing at home. They love lessons and we hope to come back when my child can take this more seriously.”

Group classes are a great way to add interaction and build a sense of community, in addition to better margins in a music lesson business.

Practice vs. Play
There’s a lot of focus on practice in music lessons. But there IS a difference between practicing and playing.

Practice is an organized form of play. You can’t really practice without first playing. Put playing first and everything else falls into place!
