I agree both can be done. Having patch rollbacks like BlazBlue had should be mandatory.

I do not like the live service model, but I would not mind as much if we could get that… or if I could please get new BlazBlue, Rival Schools and Soulcalibur games.

All those releases were cheaper than seasons, at least or me. I like getting it all in one package each time and having a different release to try out preserved.

And look at Dragon Ball FighterZ. That game has changed radically, and it is very hard to find a way back to old patches.

Having sequels instead of major patches would solve that and preserve all of it.

Having multiple versions of Street Fighter II, Alpha, III and IV has many jumping on points with differences that are preserved.

For V it is real hard to even be able to go back to previous versions, and likely that will be the case for 6:

Solving these issues in society, governance and culture would likely cure most of this.

Yet… we are unable to… so we have to do the best we can to fix what we have.

One key factor in this is people do not trust each other anymore.

people are on the political spectrum
little free time due to work
massive poverty issues, which also means people struggling to stay in the middle class
collapsing social structures
dismantled societal safety nets
