I was remembering elementary school and being taught how to walk with scissors. The handle was positioned away from the carrier. The teacher explained that it was to keep others safe. That mindset is all but gone. Our culture celebrates a "points out" stance. Because you gotta look out for #1 (/s).

When I was a kid, I remember the stories of John Dillinger, Jesse James, Al Capone, and Billy the Kid. I never really understood how such folks were celebrated, until now.
