I hate this list because of what I left off. But it's the list I hated the least. Ugh. Miserable exercise. Also, I would have World of Tomorrow on there instead of Wall-E, but the NYT list didn't accept it. Which is bullshit. World of Tomorrow may be my #1.

Protest in Mesa today was great and so encouraging. So many people and it was one of the smaller ones in the area.

I haven’t posted much because it’s been 5 days without the kids and before that was some repeats of meals I’d already made. But! Tonight for a friends birthday I did a carrot cake with buttercream frosting and lemon creme fraiche ice cream. Frosting is definitely worth making if you have the time.

Penne alla vodka with a bit more vodka than was probably responsible to serve the family lol. Flambéd the sauce with vodka at the end. That was fun! Kids’ rating: 10/10.

But tonight was completely from scratch spaghetti, tomato sauce, and meat balls! I’m starting to figure out pasta in a way that doesn’t take me very long.

Chicken soup tonight! Made the stock Tuesday and it turned out really solid. I’m going to add some homemade noodles tomorrow, but I was burnt out today.

Tonight was bibimbap with bean sprout soup as requested by my 15 year old. Maybe the most effort I’ve had to put into a dish yet. But it turned out amazing. Toasted sesame oil is an S-tier ingredient. Kids rating: 9.4.

Finished off the week with some good comfort food. I made tomato soup last week, so I thawed it tonight and made some grilled cheeses to go along. Kids‘ rating: 8.7/10. They didn’t love sourdough. But they all opted for the dill gouda.

For desert I made some raspberry lemon sherbet. Spending 90 minutes pushing raspberry puree through a sieve paid off crazy with unbelievable texture.

Quite proud of this one. Four weeks in the making. I created my own sourdough starter and got it ready to make some bread bowls. I also made some clam chowder to fill it up. I’ve never been more full in my life lmao. Kids rating: 9.6/10
