Serious people are taken seriously. Toddlers with their hands on dangerous tools also need to be taken seriously but kept jn a play pen with safe toys.

My darkest fear is that those in power know we are well passed the tipping point and current "green efforts" are merely a way to keep the masses from quickly losing hope and massively upsetting the current social order. They certainly appear to be acting consistent with that theory.

Sounds like the objective was intimidation, not the prosecution of criminals... the criminals were busy doing the intimidating.

Is it a breach of the social contract if you surrendered much of your personal autonomy to an organization that then later becomes disreputable? Does that void the contract?
