Yeah, it’s pretty tone deaf on top of being misleading to say “your products are 100x better now than they were a generation ago (and the fact that they’re designed to be effectively unusable after a few years is an irrelevant distraction).”

Wheels? That’s extra. And did you want glass on those window holes, oh, that’s going to cost you. Now, I’m expecting you’ll want wings on that plane. About that…

This gif will never lose its relevancy:

Not an economist here, but how is this not just a thematic “framing” issue? A way for people with varying perspectives and experiences to coalesce around a theme?

“Affordability”, as I see it, is good branding for a cluster of policy goals that the average voter can grasp without a bunch of graphs.

I guess we have to ask the obvious question….

I want to open a sandwich shop now just so that I can give my employees name tags that say, "Certified Sandwich Hurler."

It’s the box cover you’d see on “9/11: The Video Game” for Atari in the 80s.

They still look like the villains of an early-90s video game.

So... at what point do we ask those who "slimed" Mamdani when and how *they* turn the page, given the likely outcome that their tactics failed and Mamdani--whether he wins by more or less than 50%--still actually, you know, won?

I really need a definition of “identity politics” that differentiates it from the central motivating force and political platform of the rival Party, which happened to take control of all three branches of federal government largely based on what looks to me like “identity politics.”

I think this is a good ad. I also think it addresses the issue in a way that is quite different from the line of thinking that would have Dems abandon Trans rights.

This ad helps make the case that Dems can fight with neither hand tied behind their back, defending the vulnerable AND fighting lies.

$5 a head plus oil and spices to make it edible as one part of a meal that any family would need and expect.

And if you don’t already know how to cook, well, you’re also paying for learning curve, because it won’t come out quite right the first dozen times are so.

Pizza is entirely rational.

It actually would be good performance art / trolling if Democrats announced their own giant Gatsby-themed “let them eat cake” party, and when journalists showed up, it was just an empty room with a giant sign hanging that said “Could you imagine what you’d be saying if Democrats had done it?”
