A remarkable sediment core from a unique marine sinkhole in the Caribbean has revealed the history of tropical cyclones in the area over the last 5,700 years.

Results show an unprecedented increase in frequency, attributable to recent climate change.

This just-published paper of ours analyzes wave climate variations in the Coral Sea in the presence of tropical cyclones - currently a very topical subject after TC Alfred generated huge significant wave heights along the Gold Coast !
