Taking photos, writing about photos, brewing strong beer, making perfect tortelloni, knowing everything (yeah?) about Lightroom and Photoshop, following United, drinking Vimto, missing Thorntons
@rogerprotz.bsky.social Reading your Camra article on Jennings's revival, you mention they originated in Lorton. Well, the old brewery was split into the pink cottages here - Corner, Nutshell and Yan Yak (one oak in Cumbrian, I think). A little local detail to mull over with a Snecklifter!

In Photoshop beta - using Generative Fill which can now call Google's "Nano Banana" AI model.

All I did was select the pic and type "Make this look like a sunny day and add deep blue skies and fluffy clouds".

The blue isn't great, but after 33 years using Photoshop, I can fix that the old way...

I was wondering why no Spitfires were in Monday's flypast, but one landed along Farringdon Road over the weekend and was hidden in the Deloittes car park before being wheeled up Ludgate Hill before dawn. ;)

If anyone's wondering what I'm on about (or if anyone's reading). 5 minutes of poking around, sucking his fingers and wiping his hand on desk. Nowt wrong with the kid, kids do things - just don't bring them to work.

Threw a recent picture at Adobe Firefly's AI video generation and said "make white horse jump out of frame"....

While I do like or am amused by the result, can you ever get more creative buzz from typing a few carefully-chosen words into an AI prompt than from typing a search term into Google?

On the bright side, I guess it means folk won't ask such silly questions in person or in forums.

Why, you may well ask, does Napoleon crossing the Alps get to be so prominently displayed in this west London pub? It's all because it's in an elegant square designed in the 19th century by a Frenchman and, being French he was - falsely or profitably - rumoured to be related to the Emperor.
