The cemetery was a true gem. The older headstones were creative and interesting, the newer plots clearly well loved. It was wonderful spending time there and seeing how creative people were in their memorials.

When not inundated with cyclists, it seems like it would be a peaceful place to live. It’s 20 mins from large(r) cities with more infrastructure, and surrounded by fields.

As a tourist there are places to stay, but not many places to see besides the library or snow cone stop

The town hosts an annual cycling event called “Tour D’Italia” that invites cyclists to bike anywhere from 10 to 63 miles on the country roads surrounding the town - this was the 37th year, and it was an absolute delight

Thank you @sarahedo.bsky.social for the values-based people management instructional - immediately ordering hardcopies for the people I work with who are starting to lead teams

If you had told 14yo me that dozens of adults got up early on a Saturday morning to do laps around my school’s parking lot on bicycles in semi-organized teams to find out who’s fastest… maybe I would have better ideas for spectator signs now

It proved to be a really lovely day watching turtles, ducks, and heron. Seems like a good town to live in terms of proximity to other places, though right now the city doesn’t have attractions of its own to warrant visiting again.

In Greece it’s known for being a port, proximity to ruins, and a canal with best trade intentions but relegated to tourism.

We found columns at a wedding venue (Ashton Gardens) and a drainage ditch that with some imagination and toy boats could be transformed into a canal.

Of the 7 restaurants in Corinth, I did find May’s Eats next to city hall with some Greek offerings, which we promptly took to a nearby park for a scenic picnic.

The man who checked us out at the Marketplace was an owner, a realtor, and is helping set up the chamber of commerce next door. He happily gave us extra stickers and postcards for my nieces when told about our adventure

10/10 would return

On main street is Dwell House Coffee, the library, grocery store, and the Florence Marketplace: part local goods, part art, and part vape shop where we found an oil painting of the Italian countryside we couldn’t pass up.

The town is 166 years old - like its Italian counterpart, you can find both wine and pizza in Florence at the Vineyard. I could have spent an entire day wandering around the vegetable garden or reading a book on the edge of a fountain.
