We’re at 79 universities that are reducing their staff and programmes: qmucu.org/qmul-transfo....

Any delay in even asking how to this has all gone so wrong risk losing the knowledge basis you need to have a functioning higher education (and, by consequence, informed citizenry)

A lot of my colleagues don’t like teaching Nashe, but along with having a lot of fun with his stylings, I rarely have such engaged conversations about political satire, invention in a time of scarcity, punching up rather than down, the value of literature and the arts…

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky

I'm new to Bluesky, and one thing I can't figure out is how to see the context of a comment. Someone posts something, I comment on what they post, I get a notification telling me that they replied to my comment, and when I click on that all I see is their reply. I can't see the rest of the thread.

I've set up an early modern religion feed. It won't catch everything, but it should pick up on quite a lot of relevant stuff and perhaps help to cut out the "noise" from other posts.

Feedback welcome!

I've created a "Starter Pack" on early modern religion, and taken the liberty of adding a dozen or so likely candidates (I hope that's OK; please let me know if not!). Anyone interested, just contact me and I'll add your name!
