Father, Husband, and Veteran living in Raleigh, NC. Mostly liberal and pro-democracy.
I miss having a democracy and three equal branches of government. Our Founding Fathers were wise to put the power of deciding to go to war with Congress, and it eliminates the urges of the President. This only works though if everyone actually acts in accordance with the Constitution.

When I was in the intel community, the idea of going to war with Iran scared me. The US attacking them was seen as the only way to get all Iranians to unite behind their government, and to prevent the younger generation's goal of having a more democratic government.

You can safely ignore anyone saying that the US did or did not damage any of the Iranian sites. Imagery is insufficient to do accurate battle damage assessment of any undergroud facility. It is unlikely that even the Iranians know at this point the full extent of the damage.

I do not know if the Army personnel intentionally screwed up the marching or not. I will say that I'm sorry for them, having to come to DC for what was a waste of time. The Army should be proud of 250 years of service, and it is unfortunate that Trump made this about himself.

It is sad that my dying father worried about the damage Trump is doing to this country. I couldn't get him to stop watching the news. He was worried, scared, and afraid that democracy is ending. This, instead of thinking about the good parts of his life or his children. This is what Trump does.

My father, Dr. Ralph B. Allison passed away yesterday afternoon. A few months ago, he said his goal was to make it past his 94th birthday, which he did by a few days. He was a psychiatrist and a visionary in the diagnoses and treatment of multiple personalities. I wish him best on his new journey.

I never thought I'd see the US President would align the US with dictators. This is treason to the principals that the US was founded on. I hope the GOP understands how bad they screwed this up.

I never thought I'd see the day where the POTUS turns America's back on our allies and embraces our traditional adversaries... but here we are. He will be a stain on American history for many generations to come.

I retired from the Air Force after 24 years and have spent the last 8 years in private industry. Over the past few years I've had the urge to rejoin the federal workforce to help give back. For a variety of reasons I decided to stay the course. I'm thankful that I did. I miss democracy.

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You don’t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. That’s tyranny.

This sudden freeze in federal funding is so sweeping that it could cause widespread harm across our state—delaying disaster recovery, undercutting law enforcement, and affecting children and veterans. It violates constitutional power over federal spending, and I’m taking legal action to stop it.

In a functioning democracy, a president who
-tries to seize Congress's constitutional spending powers
-attempts to rewrite the Constitution unilaterally
-pardons violent insurrectionists who attacked the government
-fires the Inspectors General and DOJ prosecutors

would face immediate impeachment

I guess having a single day as dictator wasn't enough. I don't know how much pain we will have to suffer through before Congress does something about it.

The irony of MAGA wanting to take over Canada and Greenland but can't handle being outside in the cold for a single day for Donald Trump's inauguration.

Excited to learn about Trump's plans to:
- make housing more affordable
- address climate related insurance crisis
- lower inflation
- raise the minimum wage
- lower the uninsured and poverty rates
- cut the deficit (like the last 3 D POTUS)
- bring the country together
Anything else?

With all the talk about Judge Merchan’s plan to impose a sentence without jail time or fine & with an unconditional discharge on January 10, I’d urge him instead to condition Trump’s discharge on obeying the presidential oath he will take on January 20. That’s a promise we know Trump won’t keep.
