Really exciting book news out of Norway. And while the article focusses on the sealskin binding, I'm even more excited by the fact that these neumes are not square, which suggests a date well before 1200.

The last survivor of the Crimean War died in 2004.
"Timothy" spent 40 years in the Navy. After retirement, having moved in with the Earl of Devon, she revealed she was a girl.
She would wander round his garden wearing a sign that said. "My name is Timothy. I am very old. Pease do not pick me up".

Fascinerende eksempel på medias ansvarsfraskrivende ordbruk. Selv etter at profilen er dømt for å ha kjørt på en syklist, så skriver VG at hun "fikk syklist på panseret", og at "bilen hun kjørte havnet i et sammenstøt". Hun "hadde et sammenstøt med en syklist". WTF

In an ethnographic study of youth political organizations, one of my PhD students found that the primary driver of engagement wasn't concern about particular issues but rather the chance to do something fun together with friends (eg, make posters for rallies, or go to meetings with free food).

Det er ikke sånn at gutter bare magisk har blitt skeptiske til likestilling. Det er store krefter i sving som jobber knallhardt for reversering av likestilling.
Gutter i niende klasse er skeptiske til at menn og kvinner skal ha like rettigheter
De kan også mindre om demokrati og politikk enn andre unge i våre naboland, viser stor undersøkelse.
