If the global system is experiencing a rupture, then it's time that G7 membership be extended to states like Mexico, South Korea, and Australia – and perhaps Brazil or India. We need a democratic response to an expanding BRICS, especially with the reorientation of global power to the Asia-Pacific.

Ottawa and Beijing have been feuding for almost a decade. Now a belligerent United States has inspired Canada and China to make nice. It'll be interesting to see genuine competition on the electric vehicle market; Chinese EVs will make a major inroad in North America, while we renegotiate CUSMA.
Canada's deal with China signals it is serious about shift from US
Carney says Canada's relationship with China has become "more predictable" than that with the US, as his country searches for trade certainty.

The United States proposed annexation of Greenland is just an awful relic of American imperialism in the Western hemisphere. But for Donald Trump to blame it on not winning the Nobel Peace Prize is just dangerously deranged.

Alberta separatism is such an absurd proposition. How does it make sense that a landlocked country with the population size of Panama and the GDP of Hungary, even compete or negotiate with the American elephant next-door. Much less, convince foreign state Canada to build a pipeline to the coast?

I haven’t seen gas in Calgary fall below one dollar per litre since the time before COVID. It genuinely was shocking to see driving up to the pump yesterday.

It's odd the Alberta legislature chose to stay up until the ungodly hour of 2:20 in the morning to pass a law on transgender youth. What an even odder choice to invoke the notwithstanding clause for: limiting the medical rights of LGBTQ+ students in the province.
Alberta uses notwithstanding clause again, on 3 laws affecting transgender youth | CBC News
Alberta's governing United Conservatives stayed up into the early pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning to pass a bill that uses the notwithstanding clause to shield laws affecting transgender youth.

The accession of Timor-Leste to ASEAN is a bright moment for global multilateralism. Putting aside historical differences, the Southeast Asian bloc is showing regional cooperation governed by institutions is far preferable – if not superior – to a global system rife with state egoism.

Whatever the politics regarding vaccines in this province. I still found some time in my day to get my flu shot and COVID boosters. (Although it still sucks Albertans have to pay for them now)

After years of unnecessary cruelty and widespread misery, this nonsense war is drawing near an end. It left nothing but rubble and smoke, orphans, widows, and scorched earth.
