I am also concerned, but I am really wondering to what extent this issue affects platforms with paid participants, such as Prolific (the study was not run there), since they already implement many of the recommended measures to prevent bots (panelist quality/location verification/identity checks)

This is a super important paper, but honestly, I think the opposite. Integrity and authenticity of online-based panels have been in question prior to this risk agents. IMO this forces all providers to up their verification and transparency of their participants.e.g.

Je suis assez d'accord sur le fond, mais je me pose toujours une question quand je lis que les pseudosciences prolifèrent de plus en plus. Certes, on peut en voir partout, mais qu'est-ce qui fonde (empiriquement) cette idée, en dehors d'une impression ?
