How windy was it in Iceland in June? This is from the South Coast--just east of Vik. Sadly, Bluesky cuts off the upper half of the video clip. #iceland, #waterfall, #windy, #Vik,

The Des Moines Art Center. I went in with minimal expectations and was instead "wow-ed!" The space is outstanding, the collection and special exhibit great. Buildings/wings by Saarinen, IM Pei, and Meier #DesMoines, #DMAC, #architecture, #art, #IMPei, #saarinen, #Meier,

Driving in rural Calvert County today (deep red Trump territory), I passed two separate "NO KINGS" demonstrations by the side of Rt. 4. I'd guess the first one was 200 people with signs and T-shirts, chanting. The second (further South) was probably 75 people. Kudos to those who participated.

I support Democratic Senators who refuse to vote for the the GOP/Trump CR/Budget--it's an unacceptable budget. But Schumer does have a point. Under a shutdown, Trump can declare all programs and Agencies he dislikes (EPA, NOAA) to be nonessential and furlough all personnel (more below)

One of the last acts of the Biden Administration that has kind of gotten lost in the shuffle is the signing of the Explore Act in January 2025. Before, as a photographer or videographer, you almost always needed a permit to shoot in a National Park. Now no permits required for low-impact groups.
