In the time it took you to read this post, Europe installed 345 solar panels. The grid map used to glow green. Now, it flashes amber, red — sometimes black. Europe's solar power is booming faster than the grid can handle. www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
Europe’s Solar Power Surge Puts Unprecedented Strain on Its Grid
The rise of renewables had led to thousands of instances of voltage exceeding allowed limits.

NEW: Weather models were performing worse ahead of a devastating storm in Alaska compared to a year ago. As one scientist @ecmwf.int put it, "the fact that all the models mis-captured this event tells us something." From me + @joewertz.bsky.social (gift link): www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Deadly Alaska Storm Hit After a Month of Wider Forecast Errors

A study predicted economic damages from climate change 3x higher than previous assessments. But it was flawed -- all thanks to the data from just one country.

I dug into this strange study and the researchers calling it out:

Uzbekistan’s erroneous data dramatically changed the results of a study on global climate damages.
