Wonderful Hiroshige exhibition at British Museum this summer. It sent me back to Essays in Idleness. So many of them are like woodblock prints in that they a freighted with subtext.

For the first time in 200 years Choughs are nesting in Dover Castle due to a reintroduction programme by Kent Wildlife Trust www.kentwildlifetrust.org.uk and a pair of them have started to visit our garden. Welcome back guys.

Goodbye Vimeo! They got too big, they're in chaos, their chatbot is funny but needs an upgrade, their humans take 24 hours to answer your email. They seem confused and careless. The simple functions in the Vimeo customer journey are neither simple nor functional. Any recommendations please?

The Limits to Liberty

It is still winter in England. We are two weeks away from the Vernal Equinox when Spring officially starts and yet this morning a Brimstone butterfly ~ Gonepteryx rhamni ~ one of the few butterflies that hibernate through the winter is busy in the cold pale sunshine of our south coast chalk garden

I have had enough of politicians, media hacks & assorted Wingnutz and Dipshitz discussing the "small boats crisis" If we are to neglect & abandon our fellow human beings to their fate let us at least be honest with ourselves and each other We don't have a boat crisis we have a human being crisis.
