I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

Enjoying the shit out of Susan Seidelman's memoir "Desperately Seeking Something" - about her amazing career making movies. It's quite inspiring. Listening to the audiobook with my wife and filmmaking partner, Tammy Caplan. I sent Susan a script back in 2008 and she was super nice and supportive.

My mother has a talking parakeet. Sometimes it actually sounds smart, like it understands what it's saying. But then other times, it is clear it doesn't have a clue, and is just parroting back. I feel the EXACT same way about Chat GPT.

Had a great time in New York. Got to see the interactive Dungeons and Dragons off-Broadway show, The Twenty Sided Tavern. It's a ton of fun. Like my interactive play, Shakespeare, Inc., audience decisions control many aspects of the performance. Worth checking out and very kid-friendly.
