Doing retirement badly. Treasurer/bookkeeper/accounting guy. US Air Force veteran who’s been called anti-American. Regular churchgoer who’s been called anti-Christian.

Got a meteorology degree later in life for the hell of it. Really.
And I think the announcement refers to the "Department of War", a name which Congress hasn't authorized and therefore doesn't really exist.

So they can stick all that, as they used to say, "where the sun don't shine".

That all starts making sense. I've emailed Fetterman's office on a few occasions. EACH time, his office's response had nothing to do with my original email. Not even close. I've simply stopped writing.

Scott Perry and Dave McCormick aren't a lot better, but Fetterman is well behind those two.

It's only in the past few days the thought has crossed my mind.

You bargain, go to court, lose several times, it's over. To go to the Supreme Court??? That's above and beyond.

I wasn't, but in the last 2-3 days I have. They have to be hiding something to be this adamant about it.

A reminder that Tuberville refused to serve in the US military. He can take a seat on sending others into an unnecessary war..

WTF is he talking about? The GDP of the entire United States is $30 trillion!! And if he's "secured" all these "commitments", why is the US Government debt continuing to increase?

I’ve started adding that phrase to emails for my far right congressman.

I always like to ask "Which political party controls all the committees in the House and Senate? That's who controls Congress."

I have wondered the same ever since finding out Stephen Miller is now in military housing.

I received a call from a staffer within 2 hours. The result was the same as always. I won't go into details, but they couldn't/wouldn't answer my question.

I'm keeping track of all this for 2026.
October 30, 2025 at 9:50 PM
That's what I emailed to my "representative" this morning. It was a simple question...which party controls all the committees in the House and Senate? Answer that question and you know who's controlling things.

I suspect Hegseth will want something more than a Snickers bar.

Maybe local news media needs to monitor the monitors.

What are the odds that these camps won't be just for "migrants"? Or the definition of "migrants" will greatly expand, just like the ballroom's cost.

It's obvious Chip Roy doesn't understand this passage from the Bible. Jesus rejected being an earthly king.

In John 6, after a crowd saw Jesus perform miracles, "they were about to come and seize him to make him king by force" (John 6:15). Jesus withdrew, as his kingdom was not of this world.

He's not paying for jack sh**! But the usual suspects will believe he is.

Me neither.

"Stretching the bounds" is what happens when the waistline on my pants gets a bit tight.

In international law, I thought you follow it or you don't.
October 17, 2025 at 7:57 PM
No, there are many of us who have served in the US military (unlike Ms. Leavitt) and are very active in our mainline churches.

In other words, those of us who love this country. Maybe she should find a nation more to her liking than this one.
October 16, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Johnson didn't defend anything. He refused to serve this country in uniform and now says guys like me, who did actually serve, "Hate America".

He's a hypocritical clown. And I'd be happy to say that to his face.

Where?
October 13, 2025 at 4:33 PM
I'm aware of the Yass donations. But I believe there are others, flying under the Yass radar, who are also providing substantial funds.
October 12, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Yup. We've been getting non-stop mailings from the shadowy (who funds them?) Commonwealth Partners, affiliated with the equally shadowy far right wing Commonwealth Foundation.

Would be nice to know who's really behind the mailings.
