A picture showing a colourful card appearing out of the my checked shirt breast pocket, with the words “Pooch Passport“ (also “Pasbort Pero”, in Welsh). This refers to the National Trust’s Pooch Passport campaign, where furry friends can earn stamps when visiting NT sites.

This was a nice find. I do love these town/regional guides, offering a window into a time and place now long gone.
A 1976 official guide of the „Borough of Dinefwr“; an old publication which includes tourist information for the towns of Ammanford, Llandeilo and Llandovery.

Thanks to @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social my eyes are now opened to the many inter dimensional portals which appear whilst dog walking.
An inter dimensional portal. Or to be more specific, a clear pathway surrounded by shaded green woodland which leads to small, narrow gap resembling a doorway. The gap shows more greenery which is bathed in light.

As part of rummaging for old maps in charity shops, the little gem appeared. I’m fascinated by old road maps that have a specific purpose like this one - “Throughroutes to and from Birmingham”.
Cover of an AA road map from 1985. Its is titled “Throughroutes to and from Birmingham”. The legend of the map in question. In addition, a nifty little table with the title “Toll Information” which lists a number of toll bridges/tunnels and their fare. The centre of the larger map, focused on Birmingham. Radiating out of the city are numerous red lines which denote the throughroutes to and from the city.

The first “sign” post of 2024. Absolute thing of beauty.
A milestone which can be found at the Museum of Welsh Life, Saint Fagans. It’s taken from Tythegston Parish, outlining distance to places nearby (Bridgend 4, Pyle 2) and further afield (London 181). Distance is presumably in miles but not made clear).
