Here's one from the vault from before I knew Merlin existed - help appreciated! Camargue in April 2022. I hear corn bunting and, I think, crested lark. I recorded it hoping it would be crested rather than skylark and definitely don't hear skylark.

I pretty much make an annual pilgrimage to the Somerset Levels to see garden warblers. I usually hear them before this but the levels is almost guaranteed to see them. <5 minutes after I parked, here's one perched singing

2 willow warblers having a sing-off by Selworthy today. One of the best sounds of the summer.

Right after seeing some dartford warblers perform. Didn't even know they still bred in Exmoor!

Still ticking off bucket list items of normal birding experiences after years of doing this. Seen lots of lesser whitethroats in my time but never heard 1 sing until this 1 serenaded me today on the path at Pilning Wetlands. Even showed briefly

Lunchtime walk to Badock's Wood brought up at least 2 singing blackcaps and this bird call that neither Merlin nor I could ID!

Highlight was accidentally flushing 2 stock doves from their nest hole right by the path

Birdsong picking on a walk at Stanton Drew this morning with the rare opportunity to hear this mistle thrush in full song. The green woody couldn't resist getting involved too at the end.

First singing chiffchaffs of the year too!

A species that managed to evade me last year (didn't bother going out specifically to look for them): sanderlings on a French beach near Boulogne on Monday. Possibly my favourite wader. They're so tame!

A walk in a local forest here in Normandy produced tons and of marsh tits as usual. A lot of them were singing, which I'd never heard before. Some great titish, some like their sneezy call, but this one had the most interesting song

Water rails really are like buses. Can go a whole year only hearing them squeal and then Slimbridge a week ago I got the best views I've ever had from Willow hide and ANOTHER one waaaay out in the open en route to the Kingfisher hide
